We play tennis on four excellent Har Tru courts, two of which are lighted for night play and all with courtside drinking fountains and covered bench areas. The courts are open to all members and guests. The program includes recreational tennis, social tennis, competitive league play (four men's teams and five ladies' teams), professional private instruction, group clinics, team clinics, special tournaments and regular social events. We are known for our friendly attitude. We have programs for players at many levels of skill from introductory level to competitive team play. Our professional, Margit Bannon, offers an evaluation of where you will fit best in the program at no cost.

The Fitness program at the IYC consists of a first-class, commercial-grade fitness facility that is open to all members 7 days a week/24 hours a day, and instructor-led exercise programs. The exercise programs are provided by private contractors in our activity rooms in the Bridge Building and in the swimming pool. To sign up for one of the instructor led programs, contact the instructor via phone or e-mail. A fee is charged by the instructor for each class and is paid directly to the instructor and is not billed through the club. Classes change according to member interest, but generally include water aerobics, yoga, and pilates.
The Fitness Center cardio and weight training equipment is available on a first come-first served basis. Doors are open during normal club hours and available after hours, using a security code available to club members. An orientation to the equipment is available on-line at the club website in the Members Only section, and a list of personal trainers is available in the Fitness Center.

You don't need to belong to a country club to play golf if you're an IYC member. We now have year-round reciprocity with 2 golf courses, Kingsway in Port Charlotte, and St. Andrews in PGI. For individual play members just call either course and set up a tee time. For group play, we have an informal IYCladies group that plays at St. Andrews on Thursdays and a men's golf group that plays on Tuesdays at Kingsway.

Saturday Bike to Breakfast
IYC has a friendly group of bikers that enjoy getting together and socializing over breakfast, while sharing tips on every subject from boating to shopping.
On every Saturday morning at 7:20 am, we gather in front of the club. We bike to one of several local restaurants for breakfast. Occasionally a longer trip is planned.
Monday Biking Group
Recreational bikers also get together for about six rides a year, generally the second Monday, October through April. Each leader plans a casual bike ride of about ten to fifteen miles on bike paths within driving distance of Punta Gorda, followed by lunch. Riders are expected to take turns leading the group.

Our Kayak Club is composed of novice and experienced kayakers. We are a very informal group – once you express an interest in paddling or paddle with us, you are a member! Kayak ownership or previous paddling experience is not required. We try to have rental kayaks available for all paddles, which typically last two to three hours. We paddle in a variety of the many beautiful, protected fresh and salt water areas available to us here in Southwest Florida. Our main goal is having fun and experiencing places you can't see any other way.
