The Isles Yacht Club, located halfway between Naples and Tampa in Punta Gorda, is the place to be for boaters and non-boaters residing in Charlotte County. Members enjoy the option of fine or casual dining as well as formal or informal ambiance. Major events, such as the Change of Watch and Commodore’s Ball are a few of our annual formal events.  Those who prefer less formal events will be pleased with the monthly theme parties with dining, dancing and great fun. Members are entitled to full use of all club facilities, including the marina and fuel dock, activity and club rooms, dining rooms and bar, state-of-the-art fitness center, billiard room, heated swimming pool and lighted Har-Tru tennis courts.

As a member of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, our members enjoy club privileges without having to pay multiple club dues. Take pleasure in social and dining privileges at a collection of 36 private clubs in the state of Florida, offering excellent marina facilities as well. Members visiting other Council clubs by boat benefit from the first night of dockage free. Reciprocal charges are billed through the club. Isles Yacht Club also has reciprocal agreements with world-renowned clubs, welcoming our members at most yacht clubs throughout the U.S. and around the world.

Our last Open House was very successful, bringing in over 120 prospective new members. This Open House was successful due to the help of our members who brought their neighbors. It was successful due to the many members who arranged Activity tables. Many tennis or billiard or card players came to show off our various activities. The kitchen served great finger food and the staff was ready to help wherever we needed them. Many thanks to Charley Shoe for his tremendous effort in his live broadcast at the event and the many interviews he hosted throughout the afternoon. So far over a dozen have joined and we have prospects for many more.

During new member orientation there was nothing but praise for our dining room and the office staff. But there were also a few suggestions. We need to help integrate new members by inviting them to sit at our tables should we have a few extra seats. Invite them to Trivia or other events. Did you know that 60% of our members do not own boats. How about inviting them to help you crew your sailboat or just have them join you for a cruise around Charlotte Harbor should you have space.
As we have often said, finding new members is something every member should think about and the same should be said for retaining current members and trying to get them involved.
In the future we will be concentrating on Summer Memberships and attracting more Business members.
